Karen Bolesky earned a BA degree at University of South Florida in Fine Arts and a Masters degree in Counseling. She purchased the Soma Institute of Neuromuscular Integration® in 1986 and expanded it into a seven hundred twenty-one hour Structural Integration training and a State licensing program. She is the director and core instructor in the program. In a multi-faceted career that started forty years ago, she has studied associated topics extensively, including Bioenergetics, Drawing Interpretation, death and dying, pottery, herbs and earth medicine, BioSomatics, Authentic Movement, and Embryology. She owned two health food stores in Florida. Her masters’ thesis on body language was the beginning of her focus on the human body-mind.
Bolesky is masterful at facilitating her students’ connection to themselves, and the physical vitality and depth of emotional satisfaction possible when one is fully present in their vital precious body. Having suffered from early asthma, endometriosis, chronic fatigue, a car accident that caused neck, head and facial injury and grief from the tragic deaths of family and friends, she shares intimate anecdotes and takes us on a journey of healing that radiates outward to vast spaces… and touches people. She lives on a farm in the gloaming light of the Pacific Northwest, in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. She practices a spontaneous intimacy with life itself.
